Hello, I just started looking into Clicky and your Clicky Analytics Dashboard for Joomla module/plugin for my Joomla! 3.6.5 websites. I tried on 3 sites which all show the same error message in the Control Panel:
“Data column(s) for axis #0 cannot be of type string”

The plugin is collecting data as when I go to the Clicky website I can see the traffic collected.
I saw a note with the same error here and the response was to check that there are no blanks in the site_id and site_key, which I did check multiple times.
I also had a look at the commands you send to clicky.com (View Page source in Firefox) and there are no blanks in the string: “http://api.clicky.com/api/stats/4?site_id=dxxxxxxxx7&sitekey=1xxxxx2&date=last-30-days&type=visitors-online&output=json&json_callback=?”, the “x” were added by me to mask my data. The id and key the browser shows match what I see in Clicky.

Anything else I could check?

Thanks
Thomas

Hi,
If the account is new it can take a while for the API to actually return data in order to be displayed. Usually it can take upto 24h.

Thanks for getting back Alin, the first account was set up yesterday 7:30am (that’s when the Clicky welcome email came in), so already more than 30 hours ago. I guess I’ll wait a bit longer, maybe the API is on it’s Easter break 🙂

2 more days have passed and all 3 sites still show the same error message. Is there any way for me to test if the API actually delivers data?
E.g. should this typed into a browser return any visible data? http://api.clicky.com/api/stats/4?site_id=dxxxxxxx7&sitekey=1xxxxx2&date=last-30-days&type=visitors-online&output=json&json_callback=?

2 weeks passed and still no change. Am I the only one with this issue? Anyone’s got an idea what I can test?

Hi,

Can you check your PHP error log for errors?

It could be an error which generates the issue.

Hi Alin, just checked the error.log files on my sites and there is nothing in there which would point to my problem. Just a few old password related entries…

Did try with Firefox and Chrome, on Windows 10 and Linux…didn’t make a difference.
