If you want to change your IP address in Windows 8 you have to follow these steps:
1. Use Windows Key + R combination to start the Run window
2. Enter and run NCPA.CPL to open the Network Connections window
3. Right-click on Ethernet or Wi-Fi and choose Properties
6. Double click on Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4) or on Internet Protocol Version 6 (TCP/IPv6) (depending on the type of IP you use)
Setting up a Dynamic IP address in Windows 8
To set up a dynamic IP address in Windows 8 you have to select the following options (see example below):
– Obtain an IP address automatically
– Obtain DNS server address automatically
After selecting these options, press OK and wait for the PC to automatically update the IP address.
