Some programs use an older Macromedia Director that will give an error on systems with over 1GB of RAM, giving the error message: This program requires at least 3MB of free virtual memory to run

This program requires 3MB to run

To solve the problem a slight modification to Virtual Memory is required

How to change Virtual Memory Settings?

1. Right click on My Computer

2. Go to Properties

3. Click on the Advanced tab

4. In the Performance section, click on the Settings button

5. Click on the Advanced tab

6. In the Virtual Memory section, click on Change

7. Click on the radio button next to Custom size

8. In the boxes next to both Initial size (MB) and Maximum size (MB), type 4000

9. Click on the Set button

10. Click OK to close the Virtual Memory window

11. Close all open windows

12. If required, restart your computer

Now you can run the program, it should work just fine. If you encounter any kind of slow performance on your computer you can any time restore Virtual Memory to the initial state by using System Managed Size instead of Custom Size from Virtual Memory window
