How to connect Google Search Console to Search Engine Insights
By giving Search Engine Insights access to your Search Console account, you will be able to add and verify your website from within the plugin! Furthermore, the plugin will provide meaningful information about the site health and performance right on your WordPress admin dashboard.
To connect the plugin to Google Search Console, select Search Engine from the left menu and click on Setup. Press the button called Authorize Plugin to proceed to authorization.
You will have to generate and save an access code. To generate the access code, press the link called Get Access Code, a new window will pop-up asking you to allow specific data from your Google Search Console account to be used by Search Engine Insights. After the agreement, an access code will be issued by Google API.
Copy the code, paste it in the field called Access Code, and save it by pressing the Save Access Code button. That’s it, the plugin is now connected to Google Search Console.
How to verify and add your website to Google Search Console
After connecting the plugin to Google Search Console, a Site Verification section will be displayed under the Setup screen.
To add the site to your Google Search Console account, simply click the Add Site button. For security reasons, the plugin will only allow you to add the default WordPress site URL, which is automatically detected.
Before proceeding to site verification, I strongly recommend to temporary disable any cache plugin or system. Afterward, to verify your site, simply click on Verify Site button. If the verification is successful, the status of the site will change to Verified.
Don’t forget to re-enable your cache plugin or cache system after the site verification is completed successfully!
