What should I do if “Tracking Not Installed” is displayed in my Google Analytics account?
When you see the warning Status: Tracking Not Installed in your Google Analytics account, you should:
- check if tracking is enabled; make sure that the Tracking Options is set to Analytics or Tag Manager under Analytics Insights -> Tracking Code -> Tracking Type.
- check if the tracking code is properly inserted in all your webpages and no other plugins nor your theme is inserting a second tracking code in your webpages; for more details check out: How to check If Google Analytics tracking works.
- make sure that your setup matches the tracking type selected under Analytics Insights -> Tracking Code -> Tracking Type. If you’re using Tag Manager for tracking make sure Tag Manager is selected as the tracking type and the Web Container ID box is filled with the right value.
If everything looks right, just ignore the error. The warning could be generated by a simple glitch or a delay.
